As for the car the MX30 EV itself really impressed me on a small spin I had with it. But the small range scared me! This would be perfect, but the price is nuts. What's the efficiency like? Would be concerned with the longevity of the rotary motor

Door design is a strange decision on a 4 door but at least it’s something a bit different, especially if you’re not using the back seats a lot.

The stubby suicide doors were an RX8 feature , but that was a "2 and a bit" seater rather than the 4 seats here. I love that Mazda took a leap of faith on this powerplant, it just feels that the execution falls short of the plan.

You couldn't buy this car as a taxi because of those doors.

Nice test and honest. I think a mention about trim levels and model type would've been useful as the 2008 looked to be a GT but not sure what the Captur was. Mine is the S Edition which has a lot of those nice little xtra's....Wireless Charging etc etc. Really enjoyed the review. Thank you.

About 2 years ago I was going to a stag in Galway which started out paint balling about 20km west of the town. I was coming from South West Waterford in my 40kwh Leaf. Did a bit of planning the night before but it was reasonably straight forward, made 1 stop in Shannon to top up and that was enough to get me there. However on the way to Galway chugging along on the M18 the android auto connection in the car failed and froze the screen, neither me or my passenger realised it had happened and didn't notice anything was wrong until we were just outside Tuam. I dont think I have ever cursed so much in my life. That FCP in Tuam was a life saver, thankfully it was free when we arrived and I was able to get topped up and back on the road, we missed the safety brief for the paintballing but i still have both my eyes anyway. I got a bit of a doing from the lads on the night of the stag for my car choice but made it home with 2 additional passengers and no problems anyway!

The older seats would mean more room in the back, in fact acceptable short trip room as long as the person in front was not huge. It would be an interesting challenge to make that size of a vehicle safe a la Smart For2.

Stopped watchingg when U said no manual .the reason most were DSG when the manual was available was U couldn't find one .my friend bought one new water 6 months then had to take a DSG when they couldn't get onew.hich he hated and got rid of after a few months
